Leland James
Originally built in 1973 by Con-way to serve as its data center and corporate offices, Leland James – a nod to the Portland trucking entrepreneur – will be completely “re-invented” into creative, large floor-plate modern office space. The renovation will include a new brick skin, large windows, full seismic upgrade, new mechanical and plumbing systems, and a new penthouse office suite with large outdoor deck and ecoroof. Located across the street from the new Slabtown New Seasons Market, the LJC Re-Invention project is part of the 3-block next phase of development within the Con-way Masterplan area together with the Block 294 and 295 projects. The building will also feature a large outdoor “dock height” elevated sitting area with retail shops that face the pedestrian plaza that runs from New Seasons north to Thurman Street.
